This is to inform EI Billing Providers that new Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) CPT codes are now available. Included below is a crosswalk guide for the new ABA codes. Providers are encouraged to begin using these new codes immediately.
As you review the crosswalk guidance, please note that certain services performed by a special educator (technician) can now be billed using the new ABA codes. Providers are encouraged to use these codes where appropriate.
Important: The SFA is not authorized to provide advice or guidance on which CPT codes should be used for which services. The determination of which CPT code is appropriate for any given service should be based on the providers’ professional training. If you need guidance on determining a CPT code, we recommend that you contact your professional organization(s), or if possible, your fellow professionals.
