There are 3 main Blue Cross Blue Shield payers for the State of New York:

·Empire

·Excellus

·Highmark

For out-of-state Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Empire, Excellus or Highmark, handle the insurance entry depending on the county the child resides in. Eastern and Western counties are typically handled by Highmark and the central counties are typically Excellus. When entering a child’s insurance information, Service Coordinators should select the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan that corresponds to the child’s county.
