Dear Colleague:
This e-mail is to provide clarification to the EI-NYEIS Ordering/Referring Communication sent to the field on 7/13/2015 regarding the upcoming implementation of the Medicaid requirement to include the ordering/referring provider NPI number on all claims for services. The Bureau of Early Intervention (BEI) received several inquiries from billing providers requesting clarification on this Medicaid requirement. Attached is information and frequently asked questions which provides clarification on this requirement from BEI and the Medicaid office.
Please note that NYEIS Version 4.2 will begin collecting this required data effective 8/26/2015. Should you have any questions about this correspondence, please contact the Bureau or Early Intervention at beipub@health.ny.gov.
