Update on Status of Medicaid Payments
Dear Colleague:
As of the May 20, 2013 Medicaid payment cycle, $2,600,246.50 in EIP claims had been accepted by the Medicaid Program for adjudication, with claims approved for payment to be included in checks dated May 20, 2013 and released to providers on June 5, 2013. During the adjudication process, it was determined that Specialty Code 325 should have been added to EIP provider files on eMedNY during the enrollment process. The Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), Bureau of Provider Enrollment, took immediate action to add the required code and claims were promptly resubmitted to Medicaid by McGuinness. These claims will now be included in the check dated May 27, 1013 and will be released to providers on June 12, 2013.
The Bureau of Early Intervention has been advised that a provider may request an early release of Medicaid payments on an emergency-basis only. Providers must submit a written request to Medicaid Financial Management for early release of payment. These requests must be received by May 30, 2013, to receive payment from Medicaid on June 5, 2013.
Further instructions on how to pursue an early release of Medicaid payments, including a sample letter and contact information, are being sent by email directly to Medicaid billing providers from the Bureau of Early Intervention.
