039- WEF Region Codes

Some providers have received a letter showing Wage Equalization Factor (WEF) codes for the counties in which they provide service.  WEF regions break all New York State counties into 16 regions that have different Medicaid billing rates.  An excel file with a breakdown of WEF regions is available to download here.

Medicaid will use the WEF regional rates when filing claims for Medicaid eligible children, but providers will not need to include that information on service records.

When submitting service records and bills through EIBilling.com, providersshoulduse their own rates.
